Last updated 2026-09-24 — This long-established Zhang Pig Trotter shop at the intersection of Yanping North Road Section 3 and Minzu West Road always has a crowd whenever I pass by. I checked online before and the reviews were decent, though the environment was a bit lacking. A few days ago, I noticed it had been renovated and even got air conditioning. So I, Old K, decided to visit around 2 PM on a weekday, thinking it wouldn’t be too crowded.

This long-established Zhang Pig Trotter shop at the intersection of Yanping North Road Section 3 and Minzu West Road always has a crowd whenever I pass by. I checked online before and the reviews were decent, though the environment was a bit lacking. A few days ago, I noticed it had been renovated and even got air conditioning. So I, Old K, decided to visit around 2 PM on a weekday, thinking it wouldn’t be too crowded.

There were fewer people, but I still had to wait a bit. Imagine how long the wait would be at lunchtime XD

There’s a menu you can check out beforehand, or you can just ask the boss directly when you get there. The pig trotters are a bit more expensive than at other places—the cheapest pig’s foot is 80 NT.

So much meat, but as a solo diner, I couldn’t try everything. In the end, I went with the pig’s foot because I prefer the chewy skin and tendons. If you prefer leaner meat, go for the mid-section leg. After ordering, just find a seat.

It was still pretty packed inside. The seats are a bit cramped, but having air conditioning in the summer is such a relief XD

I ordered modestly: pig’s foot (80 NT), pig skin (20 NT), fried tofu (10 NT), shredded bamboo shoots (20 NT), miso soup (20 NT), and white rice (10 NT). Somehow, a simple order came to 160 NT XD

You can choose whether to drizzle the sauce on your rice here—it doesn’t cost extra, so why not XD Their braising sauce is savory, not overly salty, and has a hint of sweetness. Such an amazing sauce; drizzle it on the rice and it’s instantly delicious.

Let’s dig into the pig’s foot. I thought 80 NT was a bit pricey, but their trotters are cut longer and portioned more generously than usual, so it’s not bad. The trotters are tender, Q-textured, and have a nice bite, with the tendons being especially chewy. I love this texture—it can definitely compete with Fubawang’s trotters.

The fried tofu is also well-seasoned—the solid texture pairs perfectly with the braising sauce. It’s cheap, so you can order a few more if you’re on a budget XD

The pig skin is soft and Q—it feels like you’re eating collagen XD Probably good for your skin XD This 20-NT serving is super affordable.

The shredded bamboo shoots are on the sour side—I didn’t really like the flavor, so I wouldn’t recommend this one.

The miso soup has a Taiwanese style, with a bonito-based broth that’s slightly sweet but not too salty. It’s quite rich and refreshing—perfect for washing down all the oily trotters.

Old K’s Tips:
Found another great pig trotter spot. Every part tastes good—I want to come back and try other cuts next time. Might even get some to take home for a meal XD They sell boxed meals too, but only for takeout. Great option for a no-cook dinner after work. Pig trotter lovers must give this place a try.
