The clear waters of the Youluo River are about 100 metres wide. From the highway, the expansive riverbed, lush green forests, and charming scenery of the suspension bridges resemble a fairyland on earth. Five suspension bridges span the riverbed, making Neiwan famous for its bridges. In the shallow parts of the river beneath the Neiwan Suspension Bridge, you can catch shrimp and crabs, while the deeper sections are great for swimming, and the sandy areas are ideal for barbecues and camping.

The old street of Neiwan is filled with nostalgic sites such as the Guangji Temple, the train station, the cinema, and the Neiwan Suspension Bridge, offering endless delights as you stroll through them. Among these, the vivid cartoon images of Ah San Ge and Da Shan Po, created by comic artist Liu Xingqin, have become iconic symbols of Neiwan. The street is also enlivened by amusing comics and local specialties such as the recently popular wild ginger flower zongzi, all adding a strong sense of warmth and charm to the old street. The wild ginger flower meat zongzi, purple yam vegetable buns, Hakka ground tea, ground tea slushies, and Hakka mochi on Neiwan Old Street are sure to tempt your taste buds.

Neiwan Station is located in Neiwan Village, Hengshan Township, Hsinchu County, and is the terminus of the Neiwan Branch Line of the Western Trunk Line Railway. To this day, Neiwan Station retains the unique architectural style of the 1950s and 1960s, along with many one-of-a-kind special structures. It also features a “Commemorative Plaque for the Opening of the Railway,” which serves as a reminder of the arduous journey in developing the railway.

Trains still run daily from Zhudong Station to Neiwan Station on this route. Travelling along this winding railway that snakes through the mountains and tunnels, you’ll eventually arrive at Neiwan. The small and unpretentious Neiwan Station remains a highly praised filming location for many media productions, including movies and MTVs.
