The Hsinchu 300 Expo: Local Delicacies, Cultural Creativity, and Perfect Photo Ops

This year marks the 300th anniversary of the development of Hsinchu. From July 21 to 29, the Hsinchu City Government held the “Hsinchu 300 Expo” at the Cultural and Creative Pavilion, with the theme “Dear Hsinchu, 300 Tomorrow Dreams!” Six major exhibition zones were created to showcase the city’s past, present, and future.

Admission to the expo was free and comprised six themed zones: Glorious City, Warm City, Maker City, Ageless City, Super Cute City, and Stroll City. The exhibition utilized interactive features such as 3D light projections, AR, VR virtual reality, touch walls, and 3D animations, showcasing Hsinchu’s recent transformation and vibrancy.

Meanwhile, the “Hsinchu Goodies Pavilion” was set up on the first floor of the Cultural and Creative Pavilion, inviting about 75 local specialty shops to participate. Centered around Hsinchu’s unique theme of “wind”—including Centennial Wind, Strong Monsoon, Literary Youth Wind, and Sleep-Friendly Wind—it offered the public a taste of Hsinchu cuisine, local souvenirs, and accommodation information. Limited-edition exclusive souvenirs for the “Hsinchu 300 Expo” were also launched, available for visitors who took photos and shared them online.

Due to limited parking nearby, the Hsinchu City Government also provided shuttle buses from five locations—the Hsinchu Transfer Station, Shulin Tou Parking Lot, Qianjia Shuttle Station, Gongdao 5th Road, and the Hsinchu Cultural and Creative Pavilion—to ensure quick and smooth access to the expo.
