The world’s most beautiful light exhibition comes to Taiwan — teamLab’s new creation makes its exclusive magical debut in Taiwan

The 2018 Children's Art Festival hosted by New Taipei City kicks off from August 3 to August 12, featuring a variety of domestic and international artworks that you shouldn't miss.

The Children's Art Festival not only introduces the latest tech art experience from teamLab, one of the world’s top ten must-see exhibitions, transforming the New Taipei City Government Hall into a tech jungle. The exhibition runs daily from 1 pm to 9 pm during the festival period. Among them, “teamLab Slide Orchard” marks the Taiwanese premiere of this brand-new teamLab creation, using tech-based visualizations to allow visitors to enjoy the sensation of sliding speed while experiencing the life cycle of plants.

This year, the little monsters on Monster Island have brought along new friends—eight adorable monsters offering various artistic experiences. The New Taipei City Museum family also presents mini-games featuring local cultural characteristics. Hidden throughout the activity park are numerous monster and animal artworks created by domestic and international artists. A super-cute light installation art showdown guarantees endless photo opportunities for visitors from 3 pm to 9 pm every day.

For the public art installations, France’s Les Luminéoles Light Birds are also making their Taiwan debut, performing in timed sessions from 6 pm to 9 pm. The Light Birds have previously performed in cities such as London, Paris, Istanbul, Singapore, and Shanghai, receiving enthusiastic responses. Utilizing wind and light combined with live music, the performance resembles an aerial ballet, guiding audiences into a poetic and magical atmosphere.

Also not to be missed is the highly anticipated Happy Costume Parade, gathering over 20 performance groups. Starting from Fuzhong Commercial District and marching to Civic Square, the parade features countless eye-catching floating balloons, slow-flying vehicle teams, acrobatics, stilt walkers, marching bands, cheerleading squads, percussion bands, children on unicycles, and a variety of anime characters—all coming together to lead a joyful atmosphere and accompany both kids and adults on an adventurous journey through Monster Island.
