Cities and counties across Taiwan have been setting up public bicycle rental systems. Starting today, Hsinchu City now also has YouBike！The Hsinchu City Government announced that a three-month trial operation of Hsinchu’s YouBike service will begin today, along with a promotion offering the first 30 minutes free.

In the initial phase, Hsinchu’s YouBike system will feature 10 rental stations and 540 bicycles. The 10 rental stations include: Hsinchu City Hall, Dongmen Roundabout, Zhongzheng & Beida Road Parking Lot, Xinzhi Ping Principal’s Former Residence Parking Lot, Mingzhi Academy Multi-Level Parking Lot, Jianguo Park, Yanping Parking Lot, Hsinchu Railway Station (Front Station), Hsinchu Park, and Far Eastern Mega Tower Shopping Mall.

The Hsinchu City Government also stated that currently the rental stations are mainly concentrated in the city center area. In the future, important tourist attractions, schools, and densely populated areas outside the city center will be evaluated for inclusion. It is expected that by the end of the year, the number of stations will expand to 30, with 750 bicycles available.
