One of the hottest topics lately has been the blockbuster movie "Our Times" (我的少女时代)! With much of the film shot in Hsinchu City — and over 70% of the scenes filmed at Hsinchu Commercial High School — the area has become a hotspot for fans wanting to relive the movie magic. The Hsinchu City Government’s Urban Marketing Office has capitalized on this by launchingthe “Our Times” food guide, where three female students from Hsinchu Commercial High School introduce the affordable eats loved by the movie’s heroine, Lin Zhenxin, and take everyone on a stroll around the school area to relive those youthful days.

A city official revealed that the “I Love Hsinchu – Hsinchu Commercial High School Alumni Day” eventheld on September 19 invites citizens and visitors across the country to wear high school uniforms, explore Hsinchu following movie locations, and enjoy local food, rediscovering this beautiful city. The event includes highlights such as the “Our Times @ Hsinchu Commercial High School Special Exhibition,” “Movie Location Tours,” and a “Water Balloon Battle,” along with an online campaign called “Find Your Own Our Times.” For more details, check out the “Hsinchu Fresh News” Facebook fan page.

1. Unnamed breakfast shop next to the post office on Bo’ai Street
One of the most famous snacks near Hsinchu Commercial High School on Xuefu Road is the “Steamed Bun with Pork Chop and Egg.” Originally made by the owner for his son, it became a hit after customers specifically asked for it. The oversized, fragrantly pan-fried pork chop paired with an egg, all sandwiched in a soft yet chewy steamed bun, is one of the favorite meals among local students.
