Hsinchu City’s Love Ducks Avoid the Strong Northeast Monsoon, Relocated to Leichi in Hsinchu Park

The two love ducks originally stationed at Hsinchu Fishing Port were temporarily deflated and stored due to the impact of the northeast monsoon. After consideration, the Hsinchu City Government has decided today to relocate them to Leichi in Hsinchu Park. The public is encouraged to continue showing their support.

Hsinchu Mayor Hsu Ming-tsai stated that the love ducks were introduced ahead of this year’s Double Ten National Day. Due to the impact of the northeast monsoon, they were temporarily deflated and stored. After consideration, it was decided to relocate them to Leichi in Hsinchu Park. The installation was completed this morning, and the public is welcome to come and enjoy them. However, please remain mindful of safety, order, and traffic issues.

Hsu Ming-tsai also noted that many members of the public have suggested various locations for the ducks, including Leichi Park near the Glass Museum and Caochi Lake. After careful consideration, the city government concluded that although Caochi Lake has a vast area and complements the nearby Qigu Peak Scenic Area, the lake water is unstable and there is even a risk of water supply interruption. As a result, Leichi was ultimately chosen. (Source: Central News Agency)
