Glass Art Museum

The Glass Art Museum is located on Dongda Road and covers an area of approximately 18 hectares. Hsinchu City is the birthplace of Taiwan’s glass industry. In 1999, Taiwan’s first glass museum was established. The museum is divided into exhibition areas, a glass workshop, an audiovisual library room, internet workstations, a sales and display area, as well as a dining section, among others.

The building of the Glass Museum was renovated from a structure dating back to the Japanese colonial period. It showcases exhibitions, information, and collections related to glass. The exhibition area presents the development and production methods of glass through treasures and models, and regularly features glass craft artworks. The glass workshop is equipped with glass-making facilities, including kilns and grinding tools, allowing visitors to learn about the history of glass craftsmanship and admire beautiful world-class glass art pieces.
