Beibu Cold Spring

Beibu Cold Spring is located in Beibu Township, Hsinchu County, Taiwan, distributed along the upper reaches of Daping River. Geologically, it is classified as a sedimentary rock hot spring in the foothills of western Taiwan. This cold spring is a weakly alkaline carbonated spring, with water color ranging from clear to light yellow. It is drinkable, has a slightly salty taste, with a pH value of about 7.1, and contains approximately 3337 ppm of bicarbonate ions and about 3134 ppm of sodium ions. The spring water also contains sulfur components, making it a carbonated-sulfur coexisting spring, which has certain therapeutic effects on skin diseases. Signboards near the cold spring pool indicate that the water temperature is about 15°C in summer and around 10°C in winter. Soaking here can wash away the dust of daily life and bring a refreshing sense of overall well-being.

Travelers can drive from Beibu to the cold spring in about 20 minutes. Along the way, the rolling hills are lush green, the river water is crystal clear, and the scenery is richly varied. The dam and waterfall are a highlight, while the beautiful views on both sides of the riverbed are truly breathtaking, leaving visitors deeply enchanted.
