Yu Yuen College is a Taoist temple located beside Sam Tip Tam in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong. It was initiated in 1950 by Chiu Yuk-sau and Lui Chung-tak and officially opened on March 15, 1953. To further experience traditional Chinese culture, you must not miss Yu Yuen College. Covering thousands of square meters and nestled among surrounding mountains with a serene pond, it fully captures the essence of nature.

As a religious sanctuary, Yu Yuen College embraces the three major Chinese philosophies: Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. The campus includes temples, pavilions, halls, dining quarters, scripture rooms, and ponds. The college not only promotes the teachings of the three faiths but also champions eight core virtues: filial piety, respect for teachers, loyalty, dedication, adherence to etiquette, righteousness, integrity, and honor. It is also committed to advancing social services. Visitors of faith can worship and pray here, while tourists can enjoy the scenic grounds or visit the exhibition venues.

Key attractions within Yu Yuen College include the Three Religions Grand Hall, the Zodiac Hall, the Exquisite Stone Gallery, the Guanyin Pond, the Bronze Statue of Confucius, and the Lung Wah Building. Among these, a replica of Beijing’s Temple of Heaven stands out as particularly unique. The Exquisite Stone Gallery showcases naturally formed rocks in various intriguing shapes, as if sculpted by hand. Especially captivating are the small rock carvings of the Chinese zodiac animals, which are remarkably lifelike.
