Hong Kong Disneyland Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre
The Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre (English: Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre), with its artificial lake called Inspiration Lake, is located in Penny's Bay on Lantau Island, Hong Kong, adjacent to Hong Kong Disneyland. It opened to the public on August 16, 2005. The centre was built by the Civil Engineering and Development Department of the Hong Kong Government at a cost of HK$400 million and is managed by The Walt Disney Company.
The Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre is situated in the northern part of the Penny's Bay development area, covering an area of approximately 30 hectares. The park features a 12-hectare artificial reservoir, jogging trails, a children's playground, a service centre, and a botanical woodland. Over 4,800 trees and 430,000 shrubs are planted throughout the site. The name of the Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre derives from its geographical location, situated between Hong Kong Disneyland and Yam O (also known as Sunny Bay), and it can accommodate over 5,000 visitors. To complement the nearby Hong Kong Disneyland, in addition to using Mickey Mouse-patterned railings, even the lighting, waste bins, and benches feature American-style designs, while the service centre is designed in a classical style, blending seamlessly with the neighbouring Hong Kong Disneyland.
