Fishing Lake Modern Ecological Aquaculture Demonstration Park

The Fishing Lake Modern Ecological Aquaculture Demonstration Park in Helan County, with a total area of 1,500 mu, was constructed on abandoned land resulting from soil extraction at the former county brick factory. It was developed through corporate investment and later subcontracted to farmers for aquaculture production. The park features a 500-mu water-efficient, eco-friendly, pollution-free standardized aquaculture base for large open-water fisheries, as well as 200 mu of high-standard intensive fish ponds. The main cultured species include blunt snout bream, grass carp, and common carp. The park also includes one bridge-culvert structure, 1 km of hardened roads, and the planting of 3,500 trees, including scholar trees, weeping willows, oleasters, and ailanthus.

　In 2007, an additional 100 mu of intensive fish ponds were excavated, and 24 recreational activity buildings were constructed. The park was also landscaped and beautified. This demonstration park primarily operates as a modern fishery complex integrating “aquaculture in water, cultivation on water, sightseeing on water, fishing on water, as well as dining and entertainment.”
