The Zhuangwei Dunes Tourism Service Park is a representative new international attraction in Yilan. In addition to the must-photograph yellow building on the hillside, the park also features numerous installations that are popular for Instagram check-ins.

The Houhou Community is located in Donggang Village. Originally home to the Kavalan people’s Qiliban Society — formerly known as Jialiushapu — it enjoys a unique geographic location as the best spot to view the “Turtle Mountain Sunrise,” one of the Eight Views of Turtle Mountain. Locals have used local materials like sand and driftwood to create a swing where visitors can relax and admire the breathtaking sea-and-sky horizon.

The North Coast Bicycle Path, also known as the Yilan Coastal Bicycle Route North Line, starts from Donggang Banyan Tree Park and heads north, passing through Yongzhen Coastal Park to Zhuan Estuary, covering a total length of about 14 kilometers. It’s ideal not only for cycling but also for a scenic walk along the path.

Located next to the Donggang Pier in Zhuangwei Township, Yilan County, Donggang Banyan Tree Park features shaded walking paths and viewing platforms. Its lush banyan trees form a natural green canopy, hence the name Banyan Tree Park. One of its most famous features is the hammocks hanging from the banyan trees — crafted by fishermen using their net-mending skills, there are over 20 hammocks that create a unique park highlight.
