The Yilan County Dongshan Township Farmers’ Association has announced the “Flowers Reflecting Dongshan – Discovering Happiness with Pomelos” spring event at Aiyongliao in Zhongshan Leisure Agriculture Area (No. 682, Zhongshan Village (Road), Dongshan Township, Yilan County). The event is now officially underway, and the public and businesses are also being called upon to adopt pomelo trees and reserve safe, organic Mid-Autumn pomelos in advance.The Yilan County Dongshan Township Farmers’ Association has also partnered with Lion Travel to launch one-day, two-day, and corporate group tour packages. The original price of the one-day tour was 950 NTD, but now you can experience the beauty of pomelo blossoms for just 750 NTD..

Dongshan Township has long been the main production area for pomelos in Yilan County. Thanks to the pleasant climate of the Lanyang Plain, the pomelos produced here have delicate flesh, are juicy, and sweet, making them highly sought after in the market.March to April is the peak blooming period for pomelo flowers, with a viewing window of two weeks.Although the blooming period is short, when the flowers are in full bloom, the sight of trees covered in small white blossoms always attracts many tourists and photography enthusiasts. To help more people appreciate the beauty of Yilan’s pomelo blossoms,the public can sign up for a one-day tour package for just 750 NTD to enjoy the sights of pomelo and tung blossoms, as well as taste carefully prepared local pomelo wellness lunch boxes. Visitors can also try their hand at DIY pomelo green tea cakes on-site and experience the joy of making them themselves.To allow more people to get close to Yilan’s unpolluted rural charm, special corporate group discounts have also been introduced. Originally priced at 1,099 NTD per person, the price has now been discounted by 200 NTD to just 899 NTD, and participants can also adopt a pomelo tree on behalf of their company. Huang Zhiyao, General Manager of the Yilan County Dongshan Township Farmers’ Association, said that Yilan pomelos absorb the nutrients of the Lanyang Plain, resulting in delicate flavor, juiciness, and sweetness. They are cultivated using either safe pesticide methods or organic certification, not only reducing pollution to the natural environment and maintaining ecological balance, but also striving to provide the public with the safest and most reliable agricultural products. “For just 4,000 NTD, you can adopt a pomelo tree that is managed with safe pesticide practices. By this autumn’s harvest, an average pomelo tree can yield between 100 to 130 pomelos. For adopters, whether for corporate gifting or donating to charitable organizations, it’s a wonderful way to make use of them.”
The “Flowers Reflecting Dongshan – Discovering Happiness with Pomelos” spring event runs from today until March 23,a period of just two weeks. On the closing day, March 23, a bicycle garden tour will also be held. For just 500 NTD per person, you can ride a bike to enjoy the scenic beauty of the park and participate in food and agriculture experiences.
