Deer Disk Temple

Not far south of Chaqi Pass in the Helan Mountains lies a small valley called Deer Disk Valley. On the southern slope of the valley, there remains an ancient site of a Western Xia palace. On the opposite side of the valley stands the Deer Disk Temple, built along the mountainside. It is located 13 kilometers east of the mountain road. According to historical records, it was first built during the Qing Dynasty and has a history of several hundred years. There used to be a flat area of over one hundred square meters, on which the front, middle, and rear Buddhist halls were constructed, complete with Buddha statues, bells, and tripods. In 1985, it was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit.
