Known as a sacred Buddhist site, Baique Temple is located in Xinping Village, Xigang Town, northeast of Helan County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, about 3 kilometers from the county seat. The temple complex includes the Mahavira Hall, the Thousand-Hand Guanyin Hall, the Kṣitigarbha Hall, west wing rooms, east and west chanting halls, and a Heavenly Gate. Historical records indicate that Baique Temple was originally built during the Western Xia period, dating back nearly a thousand years. It once had structures such as the Baique Pagoda and several main and side halls. Due to historical reasons, by the Republican era, the temple had fallen into disrepair but was later restored and preserved. The temple houses numerous Buddha statues, and its temple fairs on the second day of the second lunar month and the seventh day of the seventh lunar month attract many Buddhist devotees and tourists for worship and sightseeing, boasting a very thriving spiritual atmosphere.
