Helan Mountain Natural Museum

The Helan Mountain Natural Museum is situated in the welcome area of the Suyukou National Forest Park. Opened in 2004, it spans a site area of 3,000 square meters and a building area of 2,400 square meters. With a focus on real specimens and a combination of pictures and models, the museum displays 467 exhibits that vividly present the natural resources, wildlife, mineral resources, and unique landscapes of Helan Mountain. It houses specialized exhibition areas such as the Argali Sheep Hall, Insect Hall, Plant Hall, Fungi Hall, Geological Environment Hall, and Wildlife Ecological Park, serving as a microcosm of Helan Mountain's cultural heritage.

The Helan Mountain Museum was first built in 2004 with a total investment of nearly 10 million RMB and covers a site area of 30,000 square meters. The museum consists of thirteen exhibition halls, including the Rare Animals Hall, Plant Hall, Insect Hall, Unique Rocks Hall, Historical Culture Hall, and Mineral Resources Hall. It displays national key protected animal and plant specimens such as giant pandas, Siberian tigers, antelopes, leopards, musk deer, red deer, argali sheep, four-leaf clover, sand wintergreen, and Mongolian almonds, all of which hold high historical, scientific, artistic, and aesthetic value. The museum is equipped with advanced sound, light, and electric technologies and staffed by professional guides. As a comprehensive modern museum themed around the flora and fauna of Helan Mountain, geological changes, and historical culture, it has been recognized as an Outstanding Science Education Base, a National Wildlife Conservation Base, and a Scientific Research Internship Base by East China Normal University. It has welcomed 50,000 primary, secondary, and college students, as well as over 30 batches of experts and scholars from both China and abroad.
