Huaxiangguoju Tourist Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Huaxiangguoju Pomelo Countryside Garden is located in the heart of the western Sichuan Plain, the site of the ancient Shu capital, within Banzhuyuan Town in Xindu District, Chengdu, which is known as the "Hometown of China’s Famous Pomelos." The garden is 20 kilometers south of downtown Chengdu and 18 kilometers east of Xindu District. It lies adjacent to the Chengdu Ring Expressway and the Chengdu-Chengpeng Expressway, with Xindu’s Beixin Avenue and Xiangcheng Avenue passing through, offering highly convenient land transportation. Huaxiangguoju spans two communities in Banzhuyuan Town—Huinan and Tanmu—covering an area of over 3,500 mu (including more than 2,000 mu of standard Xindu pomelo plantations), with a total population of 3,173. It mainly connects rural sightseeing, farmhouse leisure, and historical site tours into a chain, presenting a new vision of a beautiful countryside with “one core, one axis, and two loop lines.”

The Xindu pomelo from Huaxiangguoju has a history of over 30 years, from scientific introduction and official naming to large-scale planting and industrial formation. As the birthplace and main production area of the Xindu pomelo, Banzhuyuan Town now has over 7,000 mu of Xindu pomelo plantations. It has won the National Pomelo Research and Production “Golden Cup Award” for seven consecutive sessions, obtained national green food certification and geographical indication protection, and has been visited by international celebrities such as Robert Mundell, the “Father of the Euro,” as well as inspected by national, provincial, and municipal leaders. Domestic and international tourists flock here. In July 2009, in accordance with the overall requirements for strengthening ecological civilization construction and based on full respect for villagers’ wishes, we carefully formulated a comprehensive rural construction plan for the town. Adhering to the development concept of integrating form, ecology, industry, and culture (“four-in-one”), we improved infrastructure such as water, electricity, gas, ditches, canals, and roads, implemented renovations of traditional Sichuan-style residences and comprehensive environmental improvements, explored and enhanced historical culture and ecological foundations, and vigorously developed modern urban sightseeing agriculture and rural tourism. It has become a key demonstration project in Chengdu’s construction of a world-class ecological garden city.

Huaxiangguoju features the thousand-year-old ruins of the Huilan Ancient Pagoda, the former residence and ancestral hall of the Ming Dynasty thinker Fei Mi, the Happy Orchard where traditional culture meets modern civilization, Sichuan-style residences that blend ancient Shu farming culture with the charm of the pomelo countryside, harmonious villages where open fields, forest clusters, and rustic folklore coexist, the Expo Exhibition and Sales Center of the China Famous Pomelo Industry Association, and the China Chengdu Micro Film Art Creation Base... “Come for spring outings in March, admire pomelo blossoms in May, escape the summer heat in July,

get intoxicated by osmanthus fragrance in August, and taste pomelo fruits in October.” The garden has become an open rural park in the suburbs of Chengdu, integrating leisure, sightseeing, experience, and vacation, and a peaceful homeland that showcases profound cultural heritage, natural charm, and pastoral beauty. In 2011, the garden was named a Chengdu Tourism Characteristic Village and one of the Top Ten Rural Scenic Spots. In December 2012, it was rated as a national AAA-level tourist attraction and passed the comprehensive acceptance of the national ecological district.
