UberEATS Launches in Taiwan – Over 90% of Spicy Hotpot Dianwang’s Menu Available for Delivery

UberEATS’ restaurant delivery service officially launched today (15th), with around 100 partner eateries at launch. High-profile restaurants include Dianwang Spicy Hotpot, Shin Tokyo, M ONE Cafe, Le Blanc, and SOMA. Among them, Dianwang can deliver almost all ingredients except the hotpot base — at its Guangfu branch, about 90% of items are available for delivery.

This collaboration with UberEATS marks a new venture for Dianwang Spicy Hotpot. Currently, only the Guangfu branch in Taipei is participating, with plans to expand based on how the partnership progresses. As for what’s available for delivery, branch manager Yang Feihan said that aside from the hotpot base, nearly 90% of the ingredients — including meats, broths, and meatballs — can be ordered via UberEATS, offering a wide selection.

Regarding concerns about ingredient freshness, Yang Feihan explained that UberEATS guarantees delivery within 30 minutes, and most items remain fresh thanks to the use of preservation bags during transit. For meat products, extra care is taken with packaging and ice packs. She also noted that the hotpot base is not frozen, as freezing would affect the flavor — it arrives warm, and if not consumed right away, should be refrigerated but not kept for more than three days.

Compared to Dianwang, Shin Tokyo, which serves Japanese kaiseki cuisine, has more limited options for delivery. Head chef Lin Junming said that, considering the emphasis on freshness for sashimi and the delicate presentation of kaiseki dishes, the UberEATS menu mainly features cooked items such as unagi rice, unagi bento, grilled sea bream, and sushi rolls — with the unagi bento specially designed for UberEATS.

UberEATS is already available in 14 U.S. cities, as well as in Canada, Australia, France, and other locations. In Asia, it first launched in Singapore. The app is user-friendly — simply download the UberEATS app, place an order with a few taps, and enjoy delicious food delivered to your door. During the initial phase, there’s no minimum order requirement and no additional delivery fee.
