Today, Pingzi is introducing LOCO FOOD, one of Taipei’s hottest brunch spots in recent years. It’s known for its crispy flaky egg rolls made in mini iron pans, sandwiches, burgers, and, of course, a cup of coffee you’ll want to drink every day. They offer American-style coffee, black coffee, and Italian-style specialty drinks. This is a brunch café that even coffee enthusiasts shouldn’t miss. Praised by “Foodie Safari” and netizens alike, it’s ranked among the top 10 must-try breakfast spots in Taipei across the Greater Taipei area – proof of its stellar reputation. Follow Pingzi’s lead and dig into a hearty breakfast here!

The LOCO FOOD store is located between Taipei Metro Songjiang Nanjing Station and Nanjing Fuxing Station. The distance between the two stations is similar. It’s easier to spot on Nanjing East Road – just look for China Airlines, then turn at the corner in front of Rose Lady. You’ll see this eye-catching blue-green building. Its vibrant blue-green exterior is hard to miss, and its corner location ensures it catches the eye from all directions. If you’re taking the bus, get off at Nanjing Longjiang Intersection or Nanjing Jianguo Intersection. If you’re driving, head into Lane 89 where you’ll find the Doodoo Car parking lot.

A poster on the side wall reads: “Taipei’s Must-Eat Top 10 Brunch Spots – LOCO FOOD.” You can tell how popular it is. Pingzi has eaten here many times but only now decided to write about it. She originally wanted to keep it her little secret, but with so many people visiting, she figured it’s time to share.

At LOCO FOOD, you first order and pay at the counter up front. The staff will give you a number ticket, and the whole process is pretty quick – at least for Pingzi, who’s been here many times, it usually takes just 5–10 minutes. They’ll ask whether you’re dining in or taking out. If you’re dining in, they’ll give you a number and direct you to your seat. You enter through the side door. Staff will arrange seating based on group size. Remember: you must order and pay before finding a seat, or the staff might ask you to leave.

The menu features three main items: crispy flaky egg rolls in mini iron pans, big-bite burgers, and sandwiches. The naming is fun and pairs well with coffee and other drinks. For dine-in, there’s a minimum spend of NT$100 per person or NT$200 for two people. The staff will check that you’ve met the minimum. So, roughly, you’re looking at a breakfast with a minimum spend of just over NT$100 per person – which is pretty affordable for Taipei.

After ordering, enter LOCO FOOD through the small left-side door of the blue-green building for indoor dining.

The dining area is quite spacious, though it’s packed with around 20 seats. The decor is American-style and very relaxing. There’s a strict time limit for dining (though they don’t specify minutes), and the staff clears tables quickly. When your table is cleared, it’s a sign that others are waiting outside. Whether weekdays or weekends, it’s always busy. The early bird gets the breakfast at LOCO FOOD, and you might not have to queue. On weekends, you’ll have to wait for a table to free up after the previous guests finish. Pingzi has dined here on both weekdays and weekends – on weekends, you might wait about 10 minutes for a table.

Hold onto your meal ticket and wait for the staff to bring your food to your table.

LOCO FOOD’s signature dish is the crispy flaky egg roll in an iron pan – basically an iron pan version of a traditional Taiwanese egg pancake. People flock here for it. It’s made using the thick-cut American-style egg roll method, with a super crispy crust and creative fillings (like Welsh onions, tuna, grilled pork, etc.). It’s the main highlight of the shop’s popular breakfast offerings and the reason for its popularity. This seemingly ordinary egg pancake gets a creative twist, and when cooked, it becomes super crispy. Served in the iron pan, it not only looks great but also enhances the flavor. Tomato sauce and chili sauce are provided on the side for you to add as you like.

Just looking at the surface, you can tell it’s super crispy. Love that crispy egg pancake texture? Are you tempted yet?

This is the Scallion Bacon Roll, priced at NT$50.
It’s packed with plenty of Yilan No. 3 scallions and thick slices of bacon, plus a generous amount of fresh eggs. It’s wrapped up beautifully and looks absolutely delicious.

Tuna & Corn Combo, NT$58
This is the tuna and corn version of the crispy flaky egg roll. Just looking at it, you can tell it’s thick-cut and super filling.

The egg roll is golden and crispy – the texture is amazing. The layers make a satisfying crunch with each bite, showing just how crispy it is. Served in the iron pan, it stays warm and adds to the visual appeal.

The filling is super generous – you can taste the rich tuna flavor, and the corn adds a sweet note. The eggs are full of flavor, and the portion is quite large, leaving you feeling really satisfied.

Spice lovers shouldn’t miss the chili sauce here – it’s insanely delicious and packs a serious kick. Pingzi adds it every time she visits.

spice lovers will love the stir-fried chili added here – it’s fragrant and super tasty.

Granny’s Grilled Pork Sandwich, NT$120
This sandwich is loaded with grilled pork, lettuce, tomatoes, eggs, cucumbers, and ham. It’s wrapped in about four slices of bread, combining whole wheat and white toast. It’s then cut in half and plated. One of these will definitely fill you up – the portion is huge. The grilled pork is lightly roasted, tender and not overly salty. The top layer of toast is crispy, the fried egg is soft and delicious, and overall it’s refreshing and not greasy – truly tasty.

Locofood Coffee, NT$55
Nowadays, they serve both dine-in and takeout in paper cups. Their coffee – whether specialty, American, or regular brewed – is rich and aromatic, thanks to the high-quality beans they use.

If you haven’t tried it yet – it’s recommended by “Foodie Safari” as one of Taipei’s top 10 must-eat breakfast spots. If you live in Taipei, hurry and pay it a visit. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it should be healthy and filling, giving you energy for the whole day. Pingzi, who’s eaten at LOCO FOOD many times, says while the price is a bit higher than a regular breakfast shop, the food is more unique and the portions are decently sized, keeping you full. She’s genuinely moved by the care put into the ingredients at this brunch spot. For just a little over NT$100, you can enjoy a healthy and hearty breakfast. LOCO FOOD comes highly recommended!
