Breathtaking lakeside vistas of rain-soaked pine trees feel like Europe—Lili Magao Eco Park Makes Its Grand Debut

Lili Magao Eco Park held a press conference on the 15th to announce its official relaunch in a brand-new look. Visitors can now explore this forested area, known as the “Alps of Taiwan,” to admire the crimson maples of Qilan and the scenic beauty of rain-soaked pine trees by Mingchi Lake, while also staying in European-style villas or woodland cabins for a vacation experience reminiscent of Europe.

Spanning over 2,500 hectares, Lili Magao Eco Park is just a 1.5-hour drive from Taipei City. It features three major attractions: the Qilan Forest Recreation Area, Mingchi Forest Recreation Area, and Qilan Sacred Tree Garden, along with historically significant architecture.

Lili Tourism Group officially took over operations in 2015 and undertook a one-year phased renovation project. Tsai Tsung-yi, Chairman of Lili Tourism Group, stated that Lili Magao Eco Park is a destination suitable for family outings. Under the group’s management, the park has been revitalized with the philosophy of “infusing ecology into everyday life,” creating a cozy, minimalist resort environment with high-quality service. The Lili Yilan Westin Hotel is also set to open in the second quarter of 2017.

Tsai Tsung-yi also noted that the Sacred Tree Garden is the largest cypress sacred tree park in Asia and has been nominated by the Council for Cultural Affairs as the only biological heritage site among World Heritage candidates. Leveraging the unique scenery and accommodation experiences here not only enhances tourism in Yilan but also extends the appeal in a ribbon-like fashion to Lishan and Wuling, boosting regional tourism.

Currently, “Qilan Villa” offers three distinctive room types: European-style villas, woodland cabins, and panoramic suites, as well as a Canyon Bar where guests can enjoy mountain afternoon tea. “Mingchi Villa” retains various styles including European-style villas and woodland cabins, with room options ranging from doubles to eight-person rooms, providing diverse choices for visitors. It also features a glasshouse restaurant paired with views that make you feel like you're abroad, becoming a highlight not to be missed at Lili Magao Eco Park this autumn.
