The Dagou Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national water conservancy scenic area.

The Dagou Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located in the Yunwu Mountains in the northwest of Bishan District, about 40 kilometers from the main urban area, covering an area of 26.9 square kilometers. The Dagou Reservoir water conservancy project, which the scenic area is based on, was initially constructed in 1966 as a comprehensive water conservancy hub integrating agricultural irrigation and urban water supply. Leveraging the reservoir’s features—lush vegetation, high-quality water, and abundant natural landscapes—the local government has emphasized both conservation and development. In recent years, over 100 million yuan has been invested in infrastructure construction, supporting facilities, and tourism site development. In 2000, the Dagou Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Area was designated as a municipal-level scenic spot by the Chongqing Municipal Government. In 2001, it was approved by the National Forestry Administration to establish the Qinglong Lake National Forest Park. In March 2010, at the National Water Conservancy Scenic Area Construction and Management Conference held in Beijing, the Dagou Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Bishan County was officially named a “National Water Conservancy Scenic Area” by the Ministry of Water Resources.
