The Dacheng Hall in Bishan is a Chongqing Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Dacheng Hall in Bishan is located in Bicheng Town, Bishan County, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

The Bishan Confucius Temple was originally built during the Shaoxi era of the Southern Song Dynasty. It is the only Confucian temple complex among the first batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units after Chongqing became a municipality directly under the central government, and remains one of the best-preserved, highest-quality, and largest Confucian temple complexes in the city to this day.

The temple is adjacent to the Bishan County Party Committee and County Government, and is located next to Dacheng Square, the largest urban square in the county. Upon entering the main gate, you will see the Dacheng Hall straight ahead. Built against a hillside, the grand and imposing Dacheng Hall is the main structure of the Bishan Confucius Temple. Constructed during the Ming Dynasty, it historically served as a site for worshipping Confucius. The hall features ingenious dougong (bracket sets) in a ruyi (scepter) style, showcasing a unique and exquisite architectural design. Every Sunday afternoon, Sichuan opera performances are held inside the Dacheng Hall. For just a 3-yuan cup of plain tea, visitors can enjoy free performances by renowned Sichuan opera artists such as Li Changheng, whose face-changing skills are considered a unique marvel of Chinese culture. To the left of the Dacheng Hall is the Memorial Hall of Lü Fengzi, whose statue stands just outside the temple; to the right is the Qihui Jingwei Art Studio of Bishan County. Both locations display exquisite calligraphy and painting works. On the right side of the Dacheng Hall, a corridor faces the Biyu Hall, which houses a rich collection of artifacts. Next to the Biyu Hall is the Han Dynasty Stone Sarcophagus Exhibition Hall, exuding a serene and slightly eerie atmosphere. Behind the small hill lies a cluster of stone carvings depicting figures from Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism—vivid and diverse. The temple grounds are rich in cultural ambiance, being home to the Writers Association, Calligraphers Association, Painters Association, Couplet Association, Collectors Association, and the Jinjian Mountain Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting Society.

In 2000, the Dacheng Hall in Bishan was designated as part of the first batch of Chongqing Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Units by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government.

2. After exiting at the Bishan Interchange on the Chongqing-Suining Expressway, follow the directional signs toward Bishan, and look for the County Party Committee—adjacent to it is the Confucius Temple.
