The Daxiashan Revolutionary History Memorial Hall is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The Daxiashan Revolutionary History Memorial Hall is located in Hongchang Town, Chaonan District.

To commemorate the revolutionary spirit of veteran revolutionaries and martyrs such as Peng Pai, Xu Xiangqian, Deng Fa, Li Fuchun, Gu Dacun, and Fang Fang, promote the glorious revolutionary tradition, and carry out patriotic education, the memorial hall was proposed in early 1994 by the former Chaoyang Municipal CPPCC and a motion was passed by the Chaoyang Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee. With high attention from the CPC Chaoyang Municipal Committee and the Municipal People’s Government, and approval from relevant departments in Shantou City, it was constructed and officially opened to the public on October 22, 1997. The main building is a four-story mixed-structure structure with a construction area of 1,117 square meters, featuring a solemn exterior and rigorous layout. The first floor houses staff dormitories and a reception hall, while the second and third floors are divided into four exhibition halls. The second floor contains the first and second exhibition halls, displaying precious photos and materials about the establishment of the Daxiashan Revolutionary Base during the First and Second Revolutionary Civil Wars and the Anti-Japanese War. The third exhibition hall on the third floor showcases historical images of our army's heroic battles during the Liberation War, and the fourth exhibition hall features calligraphy and paintings created spontaneously by leaders at all levels, veteran revolutionaries, and artists who visited this patriotic education base.

Hongchang Town: [Overview] Hongchang Town is located in the middle section of the Daxiashan Mountains in the southwestern part of Chaonan District. It borders Liangying Town to the east, Tangkeng Town of Puning City to the west, Xiancheng Town to the north, and Leiling Town and Huilai County to the south.
