Movie scenes open for public visits; ‘Black & White’ Chinese New Year shuttle buses hit the road

With *Black & White Episode I: The Dawn of Assault* enjoying nationwide popularity, the Kaohsiung City Government is capitalizing on the film’s momentum to boost film tourism. It has set up a high-tech concept venue for the Southern District Police Station at Love Pier and restored the waterfront bar scene at Pier-2 Art Center. Coupled with tourist guide booklets and special ‘Black & White’ shuttle buses (running from January 20 to February 5), the city aims to let visitors fully immerse themselves in the fictional world of “HaiGang City” during the Lunar New Year holiday.

The “Southern District Police Station” and “Waterfront Bar” opened on January 20 and will run until June 30, closing only on Lunar New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day but remaining open during the rest of the holiday period. The Southern District Police Station is open weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00 and weekends from 10:00 to 22:00. The Waterfront Bar operates from 18:00 to 02:00 the next morning, every day. Admission to the Southern District Police Station is NT$120, where the original movie set has been faithfully recreated—you can even see Wu Yingxiong (played by Mark Zhao) on site, along with a 3D cinema screening exclusive movie clips. Ticket holders will also receive a guide passport and collectible outtakes from the film.

The newly renovated Waterfront Bar, now officially open, immerses visitors in a mafia-themed world. Everyone inside is dressed in black, with each wearing the badge of the Triad-like San Lian Society—even the bartenders are trained staff. In addition to gang members, the bar features hot girls, cool dealers at the gambling tables, EDM DJs, and bands putting on occasional performances.

Additionally, free ‘Black & White’ shuttle buses will operate during the holiday, traveling from Central Park MRT Station and Yanchengpu MRT Station to the Southern District Police Station and the Waterfront Bar. Visitors holding movie tickets for *Black & White Episode I: The Dawn of Assault* screened at Kaohsiung cinemas can also enjoy one free drink at the Waterfront Bar, limited to the first 10,000 people.
