The Red Army Revolutionary Slogans on Da'nan Mountain are a Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism destination.

The Republican-era Chaozhou Da'nan Mountain Red Army revolutionary slogans are located on Da'nan Mountain, situated among the three counties of Chaoyang, Puning, and Huidong. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, this area was part of the Dongjiang Revolutionary Base, where the CPC Dongjiang Special Committee led by Peng Pai was established. The Chao (Yang) Pu (Ning) Hui (Lai) Soviet Government was also formed here, making it a hotbed of agrarian revolution. At that time, the Dongjiang Special Committee and the Soviet Government organized figures such as Weng Qian to carve dozens of revolutionary slogans on the large cliff stones along key transportation routes and revolutionary activity sites on Da'nan Mountain, greatly boosting revolutionary morale. According to a 1963 survey, along the tens of miles from Yanling, Tangkeng to Leiling Path on Da'nan Mountain, 57 revolutionary slogans totaling 461 characters were carved on 35 natural rock surfaces, most of which were located within Chaoyang—24 stones with 37 slogans. Ten slogans were found in Puning, and the remaining 10 in Huidong. All were inscribed in regular script, carved in intaglio, with varying character sizes averaging about 50 centimeters. Despite decades of weathering, these slogans remain clearly visible to this day.

Weng Qian (1879–1933) was from Houping Village, Chengtian Town, Chaoyang. A stonemason by trade, he led his entire family of three generations—18 people—in joining the revolution on Da'nan Mountain in 1930. Later, three of his sons, one cousin, and one nephew sacrificed their lives for the cause. Between 1930 and 1932, he led assistants to tirelessly and persistently carve dozens of revolutionary slogans on the large cliff stones of Da'nan Mountain, braving wind and rain without complaint.

In December 1979, the Guangdong Provincial Revolutionary Committee designated it as a cultural relics protection unit.

Revolutionary Stone Slogans of the Red Army on Puning Da'nan Mountain

Located on Yanling Path in Wan’zi Village, Xiajia Town, Puning City. Stretching approximately 5 kilometers from the bridgehead at Luman Cave in Wan’zi Village and Wangling in Wangmai Town to the watershed boundary between Puning and Huidong at Yanling, there are a total of 10 slogans. They are carved on large natural rocks along the roadside, created by Weng Qian between 1930 and 1932. The character sizes vary, typically around 50 centimeters.

There are 10 stone inscriptions of Red Army slogans in Huilai County's Greater Nanshan area, located on the Yian Ridge, about 12 kilometers from Hui Cheng. These were carved in 1930 by stoneworker Weng Qian under the leadership of Peng Pai during the establishment of the Chaozhou-Huizhou Soviet. The characters are in regular script, carved in intaglio, with character height approximately 40×40 cm.
