Hunan Xuanzhou National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Hunan Xuanzhou National Wetland Park was approved for pilot construction by the State Forestry Administration in December 2014. It is situated in the border region between Hengshan County and Hengdong County in Hunan Province, primarily encompassing the main reservoir area and flood inundation zone within Hengshan County and Hengdong County of the Dayuandu Navigation-Hydropower Hub Project on the Xiang River, along with the connected Longyin Port (river), Huangni Port (river), Dayuan River, their surrounding floodplain areas, parts of rice paddies, and some adjacent mountainous regions. The wetland park extends in a narrow corridor shape from south to north, with its northernmost point at the dam of the Dayuandu Navigation-Hydropower Hub Project and its southernmost point at the junction between Hengshan County and Zhuhui District of Hengyang City within the reservoir area of the Dayuandu Navigation-Hydropower Hub Project on the Xiang River. Its geographical coordinates range from 112°41′36″ to 112°51′49″ east longitude and from 26°58′33″ to 27°11′20″ north latitude, stretching 23.6 kilometers from north to south and 16.9 kilometers from east to west. The total area is 2,659.0 hectares.

The Management Office of Hengshan Xuanzhou National Wetland Park is responsible for the pilot construction and daily management of the wetland park. Its duties include: protecting the ecological environment and biodiversity of Xuanzhou Wetland Park, promoting its conservation and rational use, and advancing the sustainable social, economic, and environmental development of the region. It is also tasked with managing, protecting, and conducting resource surveys and monitoring of the wetland park; supervising construction, development, and business activities within the planned area; protecting wildlife and plants and implementing epidemic prevention measures; promoting wetland knowledge, public education, and cooperation; managing ecological restoration, infrastructure, and other constructions within the area; and coordinating with relevant departments on forestry, fisheries, environmental protection, and greening efforts.
