Monument to the Founding of the Sixth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army

The Monument to the Founding of the Sixth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army is located in the western suburbs of Wangqiao Town, Jianli County. Currently, over ten sites of the former headquarters of the Sixth Red Army are preserved here. In February 1930, the Sixth Red Army was established at Wangjiaqiao.

To commemorate this significant historical event, the “Monument to the Founding of the Sixth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army” was built here in September 2005. It mainly consists of the monument itself and ancillary facilities such as a square, covering an area of 2,644 square meters. The base of the monument is hexagonal with 12 marble-clad steps, while the main body is a prism-shaped structure standing 19.6 meters tall. The inscription on the monument was written by Li Xiannian, former President of China, on November 1, 1988.
