Xiaogan Martyrs' Cemetery is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

Xiaogan Martyrs' Cemetery is located in Guangming Village, Shuyuan Street, Xiaonan District, Xiaogan City.

During the years of revolutionary warfare, the people of Xiaogan, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, fought relentlessly to overthrow the reactionary rule of imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucratic capitalism. This area was once part of both the Eyuwan Revolutionary Base and the Xiang-E-Xi Revolutionary Base, and for a long time served as the command center of the anti-Japanese democratic base in the Eyu Border Region. It was also an important area of activity for the New Fourth Army’s 5th Division. Many veteran proletarian revolutionaries fought on this hallowed ground. Countless Communists and heroes laid down their lives in battle after battle, shedding their blood heroically for the liberation of the Chinese nation and the happiness of the people. To commemorate the heroic deeds of these martyrs, learn from their revolutionary spirit, and carry forward the glorious traditions of the revolution, Xiaogan Martyrs' Cemetery was established in 1952. Its main structures include the Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall, the Martyrs’ Deeds Exhibition Hall, the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, the Martyrs’ Memorial Pavilion, and the Martyrs’ Tomb Cluster.

In 2006, due to the complete relocation of the North Park Martyrs’ Shrine, the South Park was built in Guangming Village, Shuyuan Street, Xiaonan District, covering an area of 30 acres. The main buildings include one Martyrs’ Deeds Exhibition Hall with an area of 2,000 square meters, with the nine large characters “Xiaogan Martyrs’ Cemetery” on the front inscribed by former President Li Xiannian; two Martyrs’ Memorial Halls with a total area of 500 square meters; a newly built Martyrs’ Monument that stands 21.6 meters tall, with the words “Xiaogan Martyrs’ Monument” in gold, personally inscribed by former Politburo Standing Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission Liu Huaqing, on the front. To the right of the monument are two Martyrs’ Memorial Pavilions, each 20 square meters, and to the left lies the Martyrs’ Tomb Cluster where 28 martyrs rest in peace.

Xiaogan Martyrs' Cemetery was designated as one of the first Provincial Patriotic Education Bases in Hubei Province by the People's Government of Hubei Province in March 1995; it was listed as a Provincial Key Martyrs’ Memorial Building Protection Unit by the People's Government of Hubei Province in December 1988; and it was announced as a National Key Martyrs’ Memorial Building Protection Unit by the State Council on March 2, 2009.
