The museum displays over ten thousand items, including Paleolithic stone tools, painted pottery from the Neolithic Age, eggshell pottery from the Longshan Culture period, bronze ware from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, lacquerware from the Han Dynasty, tri-colored glazed pottery from the Tang Dynasty, porcelain from the Song Dynasty, and cultural relics from the Ming and Qing Dynasties

Highlights: Bird-shaped ritual vessels among the pottery, solid-footed unglazed pottery vessels from the matrilineal clan society, square-bellied bronze ding vessels from the Western Zhou Dynasty, as well as bronze ware and bronze mirrors from the Warring States Period—these are all rare treasures.

Introduction: The Long Island County Museum is located on the eastern side of the county town. It is an elegant, classical-style garden building. The renowned archaeologist Professor Su Bingqi commented: “Although Long Island has many cultural relics, the fact that they are arranged in historical sequence is rare among county-level museums nationwide.”

It takes only six minutes to reach the museum by bus from the passenger ferry terminal.
