The steam train at Kaohsiung’s Pier-2 Art Center is back for the holidays! During the Lunar New Year break, the Harmen Pier-2 Line at Pier-2 Art Center’s Penglai Warehouse launched the “Mini Light Rail” — a Kaohsiung-style light rail train — along with two brand-new steam trains that are making a strong comeback, ready to join both kids and adults in celebrating the festive season.

In early 2015, the Kaohsiung City Cultural Affairs Bureau introduced the Harmen Pier-2 Line train experience, which was widely loved by visitors. The coal-fired steam-powered train was especially exciting for railway enthusiasts. From January 23rd, as well as the 24th and 30th — covering the first to the seventh days of the Lunar New Year — for a total of ten days, visitors can come to Pier-2 to ride the returning steam train and the brand-new “Mini Light Rail.”

Daily Steam Train Schedule: Service begins at 10:00 AM, with one session per hour.
There are 8 daily sessions at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, and 17:00.
Ticket Types:
◎ Steam Wristband (Full Price) NT$199 / Limited to Lunar New Year holiday / General visitors can enter and exit venues unlimited times in a single day, and ride the Harmen Pier-2 Line steam replica train once.
◎ Steam Discount Ticket NT$149 / Limited to Lunar New Year holiday / For children under 12 years old or under 150 cm tall. When purchasing discounted tickets online, you must buy at least one full-price ticket to complete the transaction.
Holders of disability cards and their accompanying persons who wish to ride the Harmen Pier-2 Line steam replica train may also obtain a discounted ticket for NT$149 by presenting their documents at the B8 Warehouse of the Penglai Area, Harmen Pier-2 Line. Discount ticket holders can enter Pier-2 venues without purchasing a wristband.
