Viewing cherry blossoms in early spring has become a popular leisure activity across Taiwan in recent years. Among the various cherry blossom spots in the country, if we’re looking for a location that offers open, scenic, flat terrain and is convenient for visitors of all ages, the top recommendation is the cherry blossom grove at National Chi Nan University. Covering an area of 150 hectares, the campus is surrounded by green mountains and blue skies. On the 20-hectare large lawn, thousands of Taiwan mountain cherry and Japanese Somei Yoshino cherry trees have begun to bloom beautifully, creating a paradise-like setting for flower appreciation.

The National Chi Nan University Cherry Blossom Season event is scheduled to take place from January 23 to February 21 of the lunar new year period in 105 (2016), in the university’s cherry blossom grove. The event will combine “cherry blossoms” with “Chinese tea ceremony,” inviting both domestic and international visitors to “enjoy fine tea and admire cherry blossoms” under the shade of a thousand blooming trees, and to spend a romantic and colorful cozy afternoon.
