Thailand has always been a beloved travel destination for Taiwanese, but from now on, those entering Thailand need to be cautious! The Thai government is considering doubling the visa-on-arrival fee from the original 1,000 baht to 2,000 baht.

The Thai side stated that as more and more tourists choose to use the visa-on-arrival when traveling to Thailand, it has led to congestion at airports and increased the burden on immigration checkpoints, further creating security loopholes. Therefore, to reduce the workload of visa-on-arrival staff at Thai airports and prevent unauthorized individuals from entering, the government is considering raising the visa-on-arrival fee to 2,000 baht. This fee hike measure has already been approved by the Thai Cabinet meeting, and the exact implementation date will be announced after an official notice from the Thai Royal Household.
