The steam mini train at Kaohsiung’s Pier-2 Art Center is back again. During the Lunar New Year holiday, the Hamasen Pier-2 Line at the Penglai Warehouse of Pier-2 Art Zone launched the “Mini Light Rail” — a mini version of the city’s light rail — along with two newly revamped steam mini trains, making a strong comeback to bring joy to visitors of all ages during the break.

In early 2015, the Kaohsiung City Cultural Affairs Bureau launched the Hamasen Pier-2 Line train experience tour, which became very popular with tourists. The coal-fired steam-powered locomotive was especially exciting for railway enthusiasts. From January 23, as well as January 24 and 30 — that is, from Lunar New Year’s Day through the seventh day of the first lunar month — over a span of ten days, visitors can come to Pier-2 to ride the much-anticipated return of the steam train and the brand-new “Mini Light Rail.”

◎ Steam Wristband (Full Price) NT$199 / Limited to Lunar New Year holiday / For general visitors, allows unlimited entry and exit on the same day, and one ride on the Hamasen Pier-2 Line steam heritage train.
◎ Steam Discount Ticket NT$149 / Limited to Lunar New Year holiday / For children under 12 years old or under 150 cm in height. When purchasing discounted tickets online, you must buy at least one full-price ticket to complete the purchase.
Holders of disability cards and their accompanying persons who wish to ride the Hamasen Pier-2 Line steam heritage train must present their credentials to purchase a discounted ticket for NT$149 at the B8 Warehouse of the Penglai Area, Hamasen Pier-2 Line. Those who purchase discounted tickets can enter the Pier-2 venues without buying a wristband.
