Gushan Mountain

Gushan Mountain is located 7 kilometers north of Aishan Mountain within the territory of Penglai City, 38 kilometers from downtown Penglai. It serves as the boundary mountain between Penglai, Longkou, and Qixia. The mountain features steep, rugged cliffs and peculiarly shaped rocks, earning it the reputation of "Little Huashan of Jiaodong."

Gushan Mountain has two towering peaks that rise high into the clouds. The southern peak, Nan Gushan, stands at an elevation of 510 meters, with Longxing Temple situated at its summit and numerous surviving stone inscriptions from the Jin Dynasty. The northern peak, Bei Gushan, rises to 542 meters above sea level and has two climbing routes. One route winds its way up through crevices in massive rock formations — narrow and steep, it is commonly known as the "Ladder Entrance." The other is an artificially carved stone-paved path, with one side of the trail directly abutting a cliff edge, making it extremely perilous. The mountaintop is relatively flat and features attractions such as Qizhi Summit, Yinma Bay, Xi Xiaochang, Dragon Mound, and Embroidered Mound, along with ancient military garrison relics.
