Pingshan River Wetland Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Pingshan River Wetland Park Water Conservancy Scenic Area project site spans from National Highway 206 in the south to the Yellow Sea in the north, and from East Shahe Road in the east to West Shahe Road in the west, with a planned total area of 56.98 hectares. Relying on the Pingshan River, the Pingshan River Wetland Park Water Conservancy Scenic Area has been rationally planned and laid out, forming a spatial structure of “one axis,” “one corridor,” and “three zones.” The scenic area connects the three major zones via the Pingshan River, dividing them into the Carefree Penglai Zone, the Dynamic Penglai Zone, and the Memory Penglai Zone. Each of these three zones has its own unique features and complements one another, perfectly integrating Penglai’s historical culture with leisure and entertainment, making it a new highlight of Penglai tourism.

Featured Attractions: Summer is the blooming season for the lotuses in the park. Amid the blazing sun and the shade of willows, the forest landscape corridor lies adjacent to the water. As a gentle breeze blows across the undisturbed water surface, you’ll see vast green lotus leaves and graceful pink blooms. “Boundless green lotus leaves extend to the sky; radiant red lotus flowers shine bright under the sun.” A forest landscape corridor instantly brings you closer to the water, making it a perfect spot for cooling off and enjoying the summer. The boardwalks stretch gracefully over the water. Walking along these water-side walkways, you’ll feel as if you’re strolling through a painting, as the verse goes: “The lotus leaves are the color of emerald silk; the lotus blossoms frame your smiling face.”

(1) From Beijing: Take the Beijing–Fuzhou Expressway → Jiqing Expressway → Weilai Expressway → Weiwu Expressway → exit at Penglai West → drive straight north to Penglai Long-Distance Bus Station → National Highway 206 → the scenic area. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the scenic area after getting off the highway. (2) From Shanghai: Take the Shanghai–Nanjing Expressway → Nanjing–Lianyungang Expressway → Tong San Expressway → Weiwu Expressway → exit at Penglai → drive straight north to National Highway 206 → the scenic area. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the scenic area after getting off the highway.
