Muzhikou Community, Penglai Pavilion Subdistrict is situated in the northern part of Penglai City, within the tourism and holiday resort area. It enjoys a prime location, nestled between mountains and the sea, with beautiful scenery and a pleasant climate. It is a well-known model village for moderate prosperity and a civilized community at the Yantai municipal level.

Muzhikou Community has a profound cultural foundation and extremely rich tourism resources. The world-renowned 5A-level scenic spots — Penglai Three Immortals Mountain & Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea Tourist Area, as well as the beach resorts, are all located here. The unique mirage phenomenon and the captivating legend of the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea enjoy fame both at home and abroad. The local fishing culture and fisherman-style homestays are also key tourism attractions that draw visitors to enjoy delicious food and experience the life of fishermen.

In recent years, leveraging its geographical advantages, Muzhikou Community has aimed for “tourism-strengthened villages and economically prosperous villages,” vigorously developing community-based tourism centered around fisherman-style homestays. In February 2008, the Fisherman-Style Homestay Association was established to further standardize the management of individual homestays. Currently, the community has over 160 fisherman-style homestay households, capable of accommodating more than 3,000 guests simultaneously. Due to the warm and professional service provided by these homestays, it is common during peak tourist seasons to find every room and bed fully booked.
