Penglai Guanyin Pavilion
The Guanyin Pavilion is located within the Penglai Three Immortals Mountain Scenic Area. The bodhisattva enshrined here has eleven faces, each with a unique expression. The eleven faces are stacked atop one another, resembling a small pagoda. The ten faces surrounding the front, back, left, and right of the Eleven-Faced Guanyin represent the ten stages of practice for Mahayana bodhisattvas, while the topmost Buddha face symbolizes the highest stage — Buddhahood.
The eleven-faced jade Guanyin in the Three Immortals Mountain Scenic Area weighs 260 tons and is meticulously carved from Burmese white jade. It is inlaid with over 10,000 gemstones, jadeites, and agates, exuding dignity and luxury with a solemn and divine visage.
