Navy Commanders' Mansion

The Navy Commanders' Mansion is located to the north of Zhenyang Gate. It is a symmetrical, two-courtyard-style antique-style building facing south, covering an area of 3,220 square meters with a construction area of 1,100 square meters. The main gate faces south, directly opposite Zhenyang Gate. On the east and west sides are four-pillar, bracketed, upturned-eave stele pavilions, each housing a stele inscribed with the characters “Loyalty” (忠) and “Filial Piety” (孝), respectively, facing each other. Both steles are three meters tall, with the back of each engraved with the life stories of Qi Jiguang and his father Qi Jing tong (Qi Jiguang’s father).

The Navy Commanders' Mansion consists of a two-courtyard compound, with each courtyard containing a main hall and one wing room on the east and west sides, all connected by corridors. The main halls and wing rooms all feature single-eave roofs covered with glazed tiles, with six ornamental ridge beasts, and are fronted by open corridors that connect to the side corridors. The main hall has a gable-and-hip roof, while the wing rooms have a hip roof. It is now converted into the Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall.
