Beicun Site

The Beicun Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Beicun Site is located in Daqindao Township, Changdao County. Dating back to the Neolithic Age and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, it was designated as part of the fourth batch of Shandong Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province in 2013.

Protected content: All cultural strata and other various types of cultural remains within the protected area.

Daqindao Township: The total land area of the island is 6.44 square kilometers, encompassing four administrative villages—Dongcun, Beicun, Nancun, and Xiaohao Village—with a total population of 4,630. By the end of 2006, the total economic income at the village and township levels was 283 million yuan, and the gross domestic product was 110 million yuan. The ratio of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries was 42:17:41. The total income from fisheries was 150 million yuan, including 120 million yuan from aquaculture, 37 million yuan from fishing, and 9 million yuan from attracting and utilizing external investment. The per capita net income was 5,000 yuan, and the per capita living area was 26 square meters.
