The Tatou Temple Ruins are a cultural heritage site protected by Shandong Province.

The Tatou Temple Ruins are located in Wen Nan Town, Xintai City, dating back to the Dawenkou Culture (4300–2500 BCE) to the Longshan Culture (2350–1950 BCE) periods. Xintai was once one of the capitals of the State of Qi (Qi was a feudal state in Chinese history from the Shang Dynasty to the early Warring States period, lasting over 1,000 years with rulers of the Si clan, descendants of Yu. The state was established during the Shang Dynasty but experienced intermittent periods of existence, with specific historical records now lost. It was re-established in the early Zhou Dynasty, and from Duke Donglou onwards, there are historical records of twenty rulers. The state was eventually conquered by the State of Chu in 445 BCE), making it an area with rich historical and cultural heritage.

On June 23, 2015, the Tatou Temple Ruins were designated as part of the fifth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection sites by the People’s Government of Shandong Province.

Wen Nan Town: Located at the eastern foot of the world-famous Mount Tai in Xintai City, Wen Nan Town borders Mengyin to the east and Pingyi to the south, situated at the “throat” area where three counties and cities meet. The Ci-Lai Railway, Meng-Guan Road, National Highway 205, — Road, Dexin Expressway, all intersect here, providing highly convenient transportation and communication. The town covers a total area of 189 square kilometers, governs 85 administrative villages, 11 communities, and has a population of 101,000.
