Caozhou Hundred Flowers Garden (Peony Boutique Garden) is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Caozhou Hundred Flowers Garden is located in Hongmiao Village, Peony Office, Heze City. With a history of over 400 years, it was built during the Ming Dynasty's Xi Zong era by He Yingduan, an official of the Ministry of Works. He gifted it to his nephew Yang Pin for management and named it "He Shangshu Garden." Later, the Yang family declined and sold the garden to the Hao family of Hongmiao Village, hence it was also known as "Hao Family Garden."

It was officially established as a garden in 1958 and named "Hongmiao Garden." In 1982, the government allocated funds for its reconstruction and renamed it "Hundred Flowers Garden." In 1990, the government provided additional funding, and the Nanjing Landscape Architecture Design Institute planned its expansion, renaming it "Caozhou Hundred Flowers Garden."

Originally called "Wanhua Village," Caozhou Hundred Flowers Garden was first built during the Ming Dynasty's Jiajing era. Having endured many changes, it has many legendary tales. In 1982, after the General Secretary inspected the site, the government allocated special funds for its reconstruction. It now covers an area of over 100 acres, with 200,000 ornamental peony plants and 100,000 ornamental paeonia lactiflora plants.

The garden has a breeding base for peony and paeonia lactiflora seedlings covering more than 2,300 acres, supplying over 2 million high-quality seedlings annually to domestic and international markets. It currently employs 32 senior and mid-level technicians, along with 450 production and management staff. It is a key peony viewing area in Caozhou and a major base for producing and exporting commercial peonies and paeonia lactiflora.

The garden is renowned as the "Peony Boutique Garden" for its abundance of rare and precious peony varieties. It features 520+ varieties across nine color series: yellow, red, blue, white, black, green, purple, pink, and multicolor. Self-bred varieties such as "Race Snow Tower," "Spring Red Delight," "Azure Dragon Guards Treasure," "Similar to Crimson," "Ink Pond Rivalry," and "Green Curtain Hides Jade"; as well as treasured traditional varieties like "Yao Huang," "Lan Bao Shi," "Pear Blossom Snow," and "Palm Flower Case," have won 27 national science and technology achievement awards including "Excellence Award," "New Variety Award," and "Quality Award."

The cultivated "Eight Immortals Gathering" features a single plant with multiple colors, a true marvel. Dozens of introduced Japanese peony varieties display unique colors and fragrances, shining brilliantly. The garden also houses a Ming Dynasty white peony still alive today, standing over ten feet tall with a three-meter-wide canopy, lush branches and leaves, and blooming over 400 flowers, earning it the admiration of visitors as the "Peony King."

The garden enjoys a unique geographical advantage, with peonies blooming early and fading late. After the peonies bloom, paeonia lactiflora flowers follow. The garden houses over 300 fine domestic and international paeonia lactiflora varieties, covering all eight colors. Varieties such as "Yang Guifei Bathing," "Xue Feng," "Red Charm Flying Frost," "Purple Phoenix Facing the Sun," "Black Dragon Exploring the Sea," "Xi Shi Pink," "Orchid Supreme," "Five-Color Dragon Jade," "Golden Silk," and "Golden Wheel" rival peonies in color, fragrance, and form, all being floral treasures. The garden’s paeonia lactiflora seedlings and fresh-cut flowers are highly favored across China and in European and American countries.
