Additional free shuttle routes during Sichongxi Hot Spring Festival connect Kenting and Mudan

This year, visitors to the Sichongxi Hot Spring Festival have more options. From December 13 to January 31 next year, Pingtung County Government has added free shuttle bus routes, operating every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and during the four-day New Year’s holiday period. These shuttles transport visitors between Kenting and Sichongxi in Checheng. Combined with the existing shuttle service from Checheng Sichongxi to the hot spring area in Mudan, the routes now form a continuous line, allowing tourists to easily plan a full tour of the Hengchun Peninsula.

This year’s hot spring festival season is in full swing. The Sichongxi Hot Spring Festival kicked off in November, followed by the Mudan Hot Spring Festival in December. The two hot spring areas can be connected via Provincial Highway 199. The Tourism and Communications Department stated that during the Sichongxi Hot Spring Festival, free shuttle buses have already been arranged, providing services from Checheng to Sichongxi and the Mudan Township Office on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. With the support of the Tourism Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, an additional shuttle route has been launched during the festival period, transporting visitors from Kenting to Sichongxi. This enhances the overall transportation connectivity around the hot spring areas, making it more convenient for those visiting Kenting to easily access the hot springs and enjoy a relaxing soak even in cold weather.
