The four main hiking trails on Meiling form a loop that can be easily completed in about half a day. The Wulong Trail is considered one of the more gentle and accessible among the four, stretching approximately 2.4 kilometers along a farm road. The Guanyin Trail starts behind the parking lot at Erpingsping, offering scenic views of the Chianan Plain and the Zengwen Reservoir along the way; the Meilong Trail is the southernmost main trail on Meiling, with the front section being a farm road and the latter part winding through a secondary forest of bamboo and China jute trees.

Xu Hongwen, General Secretary of the Meiling Scenic Area Development Association, said that due to less rainfall this year, the purple peony blooming period has been delayed by about a month, and the best viewing period lasts from now until late March. He encourages the public to seize the opportunity to go hiking and flower viewing on the mountain, as well as to sample seasonal agricultural products and chicken dishes flavored with plums.

The Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau recommendsthat visitors driving to Meiling can also explore nearby attractions such as Yongxing Suspension Bridge, Xuan Kong Temple, the Jiang Family Ancestral House, and Guidan Hot Springs — all ideal spots for a one-day trip. The Yongxing Suspension Bridge is the longest in Taiwan, spanning 497 meters including the approach, and features a purple structure illuminated by LED lights at night, creating a romantic atmosphere favored by couples. It is also recommended to take the Green Main Line bus of Greater Tainan to Yujing, then transfer to the Green 22 bus to directly reach Erpingsping on Meiling.
