Fragrant Forest X Flower Field Run – Peony & Ginger Lily Season Begins

Pingtung’s Peony Township will host the Ginger Lily Season from July 2 to September 30 at Dongyuan Forest Recreation Area, with activities including eco-tourism, the Dongyuan Tribe Forest Concert, a national fun run, and indigenous dance performances, offering visitors not just scenic views but also a healthy, vibrant local atmosphere.

This year’s Ginger Lily Season, themed “Gathering,” invites visitors to experience the charm of Shanhai (Mountain and Sea) Peony. On August 6, a national fun run will take place along Taiwan’s most fragrant highway, County Road 199, where runners can enjoy the scent of ginger lilies along the way. A series of flower-themed events are also planned, aiming to provide alternative travel options in the Kenting area through collaboration between local communities and indigenous tribes.

The 2016 Peony Township Ginger Lily Season runs from July 2 to September 30 at Dongyuan Forest Recreation Area, where the scent of ginger lilies fills the air upon entering the forest, accompanied by a refreshing forest phytoncide experience. Beyond Dongyuan Forest Recreation Area, Peony Township offers other attractions such as the Water Grassland and Shuhai Hot Springs, making it perfect for a light summer getaway.
