Mulei Village is situated 6 kilometers southwest of downtown Heze and falls under the administration of Malgang Town, Mudan District. To the north, it borders the verdant Wanfu River embankment, and to the east, it neighbors Heze’s key transport arteries—Zhonghua Road and National Highway 220—making it strategically located with excellent transportation access and picturesque natural surroundings. The village enjoys a forest coverage rate of 61%. It is home to 400 households and 1,676 residents, covering an area of 1,896 mu of arable land. With a history of over 700 years, Mulei Village has gradually developed its own unique cultural identity and boasts a wealth of distinctive tourism resources. To promote eco-tourism, the village has tapped into its resource advantages and actively cultivated its tourism brand. For the development and utilization of these resources, Mulei Village has renovated a 200-mu area of pollution-free vegetable fields and a 400-mu sightseeing and fruit-picking garden. It has also built a new leisure fishing center spanning over 100 mu, established rural-style farmhouse restaurants, and set up a dough figurine memorial hall. A variety of tourism activities have been developed, including fishing, fruit picking, dough figurine making, farmhouse stays, and eco-agricultural sightseeing. Visitors can freely pick from over 1,000 mu of green fruits and pollution-free vegetables. Farmhouse restaurants serve no fewer than 200 diners daily at noon, rising to as many as 300 on weekends. The dough figurine museum receives an average of 400 visitors per day, with a constant flow of tourists. The development of eco-sightseeing tourism has greatly enriched the spiritual and cultural lives of urban residents, making Mulei Village a shining star of eco-tourism in southwestern Shandong.
