Qingqiu Juju Site

The Qingqiu Juju Site is a Shandong Provincial cultural relics protection unit.

The Qingqiu Juju Site has been listed in the fourth batch of “Shandong Provincial Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.”

A Qing Dynasty tombstone from the 46th year of Emperor Kangxi’s reign stands on the mound, documenting the former prosperity of Qingqiu Juju. According to the inscription, during the Han Dynasty, Qingqiu Juju was home to a large temple with many monks. Located on higher ground, the temple offered a commanding view of the surrounding area — to the north one could see Luling, and to the east, the Jin Di.

The temple grounds were planted with numerous willow trees. In spring, their tender leaves sprouted, and the graceful branches swayed delicately, while smoke curled up from cooking fires all around, creating a scene of exceptional beauty. This view was known in the Qing Dynasty as “Willows in Mist at Qingqiu” and was once listed among the Eight Great Scenic Spots of Caozhou.
