Xiyao Lake is located on Luohan Ridge, the main peak of Meiling, covering an area of over ten acres. Legend has it that Li Shizhen, a renowned physician of the Ming Dynasty, once led his disciples here to gather and clean medicinal herbs, hence the name Xiyao Lake. There is also a local legend that Tieguaili, one of the Eight Immortals, washed his feet here, which is why locals also call it "Xijiao Wu" (Foot-Washing Cove).

The Xiyao Lake area remains evergreen throughout the seasons and enjoys a pleasant climate. In summer, when temperatures in Nanchang—the so-called “furnace city”—soar to 40 degrees Celsius, the temperature here only reaches 30–32 degrees Celsius, making it a true gem of Meiling. It’s worth noting that for every 100 meters increase in altitude, the temperature typically drops by 0.5–0.6 degrees Celsius. However, the temperature in Xiyao Lake is 7–8 degrees lower than in Wanli District and 8–10 degrees lower than in Nanchang City. Meiling has become one of China's top thirteen summer resorts, and Xiyao Lake is the crown jewel among them. The area currently has seven guesthouses with over 1,000 beds. We have now reached the highest peak—Luohan Peak, which stands at 841.4 meters above sea level. From here, you can watch the sunrise over the eastern sea in the morning, gaze at the lights of Nanchang city at dusk, admire the miles of fiery red azaleas in spring, enjoy the cool breezes atop the lofty fairy terraces in summer, savor wild fruits and nectar from thousands of peaks in autumn, and take in the silver-clad forests and snowy blossoms across the mountains in winter—an experience truly beyond compare.

Meiling Town: A town under the administration of Wanli District, Nanchang City. It is one of the suburban tourist and summer resort destinations. Established as Meiling Commune in 1958, it was renamed Meiling Township in 1984 and became Meiling Town in 1987. The town government is located on Dianqian Street. It lies in the northern part of the district, within Meiling National Forest Park, 4.5 kilometers from the district center. Covering an area of 67 square kilometers with a population of 13,000, it is traversed by the Shengzhuang–Dianqian Highway. The town administers the Dianqian Street Neighborhood Committee and seven village committees: Meiling, Qianjin, Lixin, Dongchang, Tuanjie, Yuanjia, and Fengjing.
