Taiwan’s most beautiful library is born！ A stunning Tree of Life is just a metro ride away

The new main branch of the Taoyuan City Public Library has been constructed in the Zhongzheng Cultural and Creative District of Taoyuan City. The design renderings have been unveiled, featuring an exceptionally beautiful exterior and green building design. With the concept of a “Tree of Life” as its central theme, it is set to become the most beautiful library in all of Taiwan.

The design of this main branch was jointly created by the architectural firm Kuo Tzu-Chiang Architects and the international design team from Japan’s Azusa Sekkei Co., Ltd., one of the design teams behind the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Main Stadium. The plan includes two buildings: the “Library Building” and the “Cinema Building,” with a total floor area of 46,300 square meters.

The second floors of the library and cinema are connected via a shared terrace, and the large exterior wall of the cinema building is used as a projection display area, functioning as an outdoor theater.

The Library Building currently plans to include a lecture hall, study rooms, a self-service book return area, a cultural and creative market, a café, a senior reading area, parent-child learning classrooms, an infant and toddler play area, an anime section, discussion zones, and a digital learning area, providing spaces that cater to the needs of users of all age groups.
