4.5 million of the world’s cutest and most adorable broomcorn grass plants form a vast and spectacular sea of flowers, so healing you’ll want to live here forever.

Located in Ibaraki Prefecture, about a two-hour drive from Tokyo, the “National Chiba Seaside Park” offers different floral landscapes throughout the year, each so beautiful it makes you question life itself.

Among them, the most famous are the pink muhly grass in mid-April and the broomcorn grass at the beginning of October. The magnificent carpet of 4.5 million blooming plants is even hailed as one of the must-see sights of a lifetime and one of the most romantic flower seas in the world.

After the pink muhly grass season each year, the broomcorn grass takes the stage. It grows to about 80 centimeters tall, already forming a lush green expanse, and reaches its peak bloom in early October. By then, it transforms into a breathtaking sea of fiery red flowers.

Spanning 350 hectares, Hitachi Seaside Park is Japan’s largest national park. In addition to various floral displays across different zones, you can also enjoy the nearby amusement park for kids.
